You may be a bit tired of Ahmadinejad's classes. But here's what one might call his summation lecture. Or maybe it's his introductory lecture. It is clear, it makes fine distinctions. Oh, what a relief: "Some governments and their people always hated the Jews because of the bad conduct of some of them." That "some of them" is a really meaningful subtlety. It shows you how honest Dr. A'jad is. There are other such nuances in his recent discourses.
Perhaps, maybe highly likely, this is a consequence of America's new engagement with Iran. Just think about the contrast between Ahmadinejad when George Bush was president and now when Barack Obama is president. So ghoulish then, so nuanced now.

Marty,
I just want to get this straight.
You want us to see Mahmoud Ahmadinejad as representative of every Muslim over there; and Barack Obama as representive of every Muslim over here?
Together they are out to crush Israel like a bug and only you and The Spine stand between them and the destruction of the entire civilized world?
Is that it in a nut case?

I am not sure why Ahmadinejad is speaking here or what his purpose is, but he is just looney with his statements.
But the broader point here, why does Ahmadinejad care about Israel? Iran and Israel are not neighbors, do not have historical grievances or competing interests. So why does Iran devote so many resources to attacking Israel?
An attack on Israel from Iran or it's sponsors give legitimacy to the Islamic Revolution. Islam took over Persia and created a Theocracy to save the world, now they think they have to destroy Israel to spread the revolution to other middle eastern states.

Ahmadinejad's word should be addressed and Iran should be told these words represent future actions that Iran may take. If diplomacy means anything they should address threats like this. And the nations should prepare to back that up by attacking Iran to take out nuclear capability.
After all, if Ahmadinejad said these words about Saudi Arabia, would the world stand by? Kuwait? I don't think so. And really, if Iran attacks Israel, don't you think Saudi Arabia would be shortly afterwards?
I should imagine that part of Achmedinnerjacket's whole political style is that he, as a former RG, isn't impressed by any American president, no matter what his approach is.

Eli Khoury: There are some who say flat out, "why not leave the Iranian nuke program alone because it really threatens the Sunnis and not the Israelis." There are some who...
MJT: Who says that?
Eli Khoury: I can't remember a journalist or a politician saying that, but it's something I've heard in salons and read hints of.
MJT: Here's my read on this: The Iranians continue to threaten Israel while they're building this system, and I suspect they're doing this to calm down Sunni Arabs. The Iranians say "Hey, we're not after you guys, we're after the Jews. Relax." But what they really want to do is dominate Lebanon, Iraq, Bahrain, wherever there are Shias.
Eli Khoury: The Gulf and the Levant. They want to dominate the Gulf and the Levant.
MJT: I'm not sure that's right, but I think that's what's probably happening.
Eli Khoury: I agree. But does that mean Israel is safe?
MJT: No.
Eli Khoury: It's not. Because it's a temporary pattern of domination. Iran means to dominate the Levant and the Gulf. And once that's done, there will be a very different discussion about Israel. So, really, all the options lead to the same thing at the end of the day. "
