Still Waiting By The Phone

From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution:

Newt Gingrich has let it be known that, if Republicans want him, the former U.S House speaker is willing to serve as chairman of the national party and lead it out of the wilderness it’s blundered into.... “If a majority of the RNC thought he was needed, he would accept that appointment,” said Randy Evans, Gingrich’s close friend and legal counsel. “He fully appreciates the urgency of the moment.”

We'll see if this turns out any better than the last time he announced that he was open to being drafted into high office.

PLEASE, GOD:

I never bother you with any prayers, believing the force of my own industry and the random luck of the universe to be enough in advancing my life, and that you have other, bigger things to worry about (like the general ordering of the said universe).  I have not asked you for anything so far, not even in the darkest moments of my existence, thinking that I get only one shot at a prayer being called, and so at each dark moment, I hoarded the prayer in anticipation or expectation of still darker ones ahead, as I still do ...

But now I see your Bounty falling upon the blessed Earth.  On bended knees and hands clasped to my heart, at this solemn moment, believing in the gene ... view full comment

" a giant Newt (the lizard kind). "

I was thinking more along the lines of a weasel or a snake in the grass.

What is so urgent? Why go from (anti-American; according to the GOP) Democratic control to GOP leadership by a serial draft-doger/adulterer? Either will lead to the end of "American Civilization."

Since that is the case, I choose Obama and the Democrats.

icarusr: I kneel beside you.

Great post.

I heard Hannity and Morris last night both say they're not Republicans, they're conservatives...that's the new shtick. They're all burning their uniforms, pretending they never diid take the oath.

Twenty years ago, we never would have seen the likes of Michele Bachmann or Dick Morris on a regular basis, but now with hundreds of media outlets and the internet, 24/7, these egomaniacs are on constant parade, sharing with us how they think, how they plot, what they aspire to. Watching them brainwash each other is fascinating (experts say people are brainwashed due to psychological arrogance). It's like the Reality TV version of Jonestown.

I hope this rumor to ... view full comment
